I can't figure this one out - on 158.73750 PL 103.5, there's this Morse code...it gives it five times, then two (data?) bursts, then repeats itself. This is done every 60 seconds or so. I don't know Morse code myself, but I tried to see if I could decipher it - and it what I got (K5XM) doesn't match anything around here. It does match a HAM vanity from somebody in Texas, but at this point I'm still confused.

I also know that both Washington and Clackamas Counties are licensed for use of multiple mobile units - countywide - with high output.

As I was driving to work, I noticed the signal seemed to have the same quality and strength as Yamhill County's UHF system, so I figured it was coming from the west of Sherwood (Mountain Top or Bald Peak). However, it really could be anywhere. I commute between Sherwood an Tualatin - the signal was stronger in Sherwood.

Anyway, here's the loop I recorded of the sound. Any help would be appreciated.

Could be from WQCH252. It shows VTAC3 licensed on High Heaven, McMinnville Fire and Doane Creek. So High Heaven is probably the best bet if its anything from Yamhill County. I never monitor the VTAC's but Ill add them and try to hear something.

I thought these were only for simplex use?

They can be used for repeater uses; if you look at the NIFOG from DHS, it suggests possible inputs.

I looked it up- Thanks. I'll have to add that reference to my favorites.

I can't hear it now...it's completely gone.

Thanks for the response, everybody. I'll post back if I hear it again, or if I hear something different.

Those bursts at the end almost sound like long Fleetsync messages.
