I Know MHSP Troop E MOSWIN (P25) is on the Poplar Bluff Site in Butler County. I live in Fredericktown and Troop E is the MHSP Troop for my county but I cannot seem to receive any radio transmissions for Troop E. I have programed my BCD996P2 with all the data from the data base but still Nothing. This is my first digital scanner but I have had MANY scanners over the last 50 years, including several BCT15 and BCT15X's. and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. My BCD996P2 has the ProVoice, DMR/MotoTRBO, and the NXDN upgrades installed. I have programmed the DMR systems for Madison County
Sheriff, Fredericktown Police, Cherokee Pass Fire, and Madison County EMS with no issues. Can someone offer some suggestions or help with programming the MOSWIN (P25) site for MHSP Troop E please.

Program the Fredricktown/Cherokee Pass MOSWIN site. The tower is basically directly occross hwy 67 from the gas station in Cherokee Pass. You should hear everything for Troop E. Also try programming other surrounding MOSWIN sites in your area and put you scanner into SEARCH mode. You may pick up more than Troop E.

I will try that. I programed the Poplar Bluff Site because the database shows that is the site for Troop E, and nothing for Highway Patrol on the Fredericktown/Cherokee Pass site. Thank you. I will let you know how it turns out.

Troop E HQ is in Poplar Bluff. You may want to search for MSHP troop locations map and it will give you border lines. You 'might' be close enough to Troop C and hear their south radio traffic. Not sure what kind of antenna you have. You should have fun listening to MSHP.

Yes I am close to Troop C territory. Sounds like you live in Madison County. Maybe you can shed some light on the Fredericktown Fire Department Frequency. According to the database it’s still a conventional analog frequency. I have programmed it in with and without the PL tone and it is deaf even when I know there is radio traffic. That is the last piece of the puzzle for me programming the 996 thanks to you.

Nah. I live in StL but have been scanning for over 40 yrs. I have traveled a bit with my job, now retired, and always tried to learn about what and who to scan. I will send you a PM in a while.
