For some time now after downloading from RR in Freescan, each site defaults to MOT Type ll / P25.
Don't feel I have ever had an issue with this. And by that, I mean the scanners have worked just fine.
I read now these sites should be marked as P25 Standard (Digital XT). I have recently tried both ways
and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

The systems I cover are System Type: Project 25 Phase II - System Voice: APCO-25 Common Air Interface Exclusive

So, my question is, "Which is correct"? "Does it matter"? (and why) (and differences, if any).

Thanks in advance for your time and answer(s)...

It is just a matter of nomenclature. Back in the days of the BCD396T and BCD996T, there was no choice of P25 Standard on the scanner menu. It was marked MOT TYPE2/P25. With the advent of the BCD396XT and BCD996 XT, P25 Standard (Digital XT) was added to the FreeSCAN selection to match the scanner menu. Either one will work. Technically Mot Type II / P25 is for the BCD396T and BCD996T and P25 Standard (Digital XT) is for the BCD396XT and BCD996XT. Either one will also work for the BCD325P2 and BCD996P2 scanners.

Thanks so much Tvengr, much appreciated. To the point and just what I needed to know.
