Just wondering if with this system I can throw all the control channels for multiple towers in the same system or if I need a different system for each tower? I have tried it both ways and have notice no issues either way. I know motorola systems dont require an lcn order like EDACS or LTR.

I would say, best to ask in the regional forum.

However, for each site, what CC' do you hear ?
If you only want a certain site, I would just program that site and create a different system for each site/zone, because if you put them all in and lose one and it grabs say the furthest away you might miss traffic. - Not knowing this system, but having dealt with others, Not all Sites/Zones carry the same TG's/traffic

That is a phase 2 system not type 2 theres a big difference between the two. I would program in the sites seperatley it will probably easier that way but you can lob them all into one system as well yiu may moss traffic on some channels though doing it that way.

What model radio do you have?

You can enter the control channel frequencies in various ways. However, assuming you have a Phase 2 capable scanner, the scanner will go through the list of programmed frequencies and find one that meets signal decode quality and - in the best case scenario - will hold on that CC (frequency).

There are different ways to program the frequencies to get different results.

I am running a GRE PSR500 scanner using butel software. I have gotten good results with loading two towers only. Things seem to track pretty well and I think everything is working out. My only consideration is to maybe add a little dwell time on the CC so it locks a little longer. The TGRP is already delayed.

OK - there is an option on the PSR-500 where you can enter the control channel frequencies for all sites and have the radio attempt to check/scan each CC on each pass (if they are in range). Entering only the control channels usually works fine in either mode (lock/hold on one CC or check all).

The system is labeled "P25 Phase 2" but the talkgroups do not indicate they are Phase 2. If that's the case, you should be fine. However, if any of the talkgroups do actually use (full or part time) Phase 2, you won't hear that activity.
