Hi, Anyone know what the max temp the heatsink is suppose to operate at? Ihave a fan on it, but don't know If I really need it.

if it is too hot to touch, then it is too hot. we use a Maxtrac for a link TX for paging, it is keyed up probably close to 18 hours in a 24 hours period. i have 2 fans on the heatsink and 1 CPU fan on the final, it has run like this for 6-7 years and never had an issue.

how long are you keeping it keyed at a time and how much break between keyups?

I have used these for link radios on repeater sites, running 50% or less power at near continuous duty with a fan or two on them, no problems.

Thanks for the reply! I use this radio as my transmit side on a 440 repeater. It mostly stays keyed up 15-20 minutes at the most, and gets real warm. But not so hot that you can't keep your fingers on it. I run 1 fan underneath it 24/7. Steve
