Also try changing the Global filter setting to Normal, Invert and Off while listening to one of these sites to see if it helps.
More info on SDS filter settings:

Increasing volume makes it louder. I'll have to pick up a new AC adapter. Thanks everyone.
Before you condemn the AC adapter, does the motorboating increase drastically with everything when you turn up the volume or just relatively increases in volume with the problem frequencies.?

Also if it was the power supply causing this issue, I would expect the problem to occur with *any* channel you listen to not just two of them.

Where I live there is 2 agencies using the same frequency. One agency is using it in analog and isn’t licensed for it. The other uses it in mixed mode dmr. When the unlicensed agency uses the frequency it will pick up the dmr from the other agencies tower and produce a motorboat sound at the end of the transmission. I have found nothing to correct the problem. I don’t have a sds model but it’s a 436hp. Even with the dpl squelch on it will still pick it up. I don’t know if that could be your problem.

It's only on 3 or 4 frequencies. When I turn up the volume, the audio and the motorboating increases the same.

My 436 does not have the issue. Also on the Somerville Fire Dispatch, not all radios on the system create the motorboating.

You should have a cigarette lighter cable that came with the scanner. Try your scanner in a vehicle to see if it functions OK. If no different, it is not the AC adapter.

T-band has always been 3 MHz.
I forgot about T-band 3 mhz standard. I always worked in the public safety band (albeit only 2mhz away from T) but never had a licensee/user with it. Thanks!

Okay, I went to Somerville fire Dispatch and set the filter to "Off". I've had over a dozen transmissions without any motorboating. That seems to be the cure. I'll play with filters on the few other channels are a problem. Again, my thanks to all.

If the power supply was the issue, you'd see the display brightness flickering along with hearing audio artifacts.

On all of my SDS series scanners, if it is set to "Search", the Digital modes will decode maybe 25% of the time, the rest of the time, it "motorboats" (DMR) or "Rushes" (NXDN) etc.
