• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

So I just recently got a Motorola CDM1250. Everything works fine, however I can't seem to figure out an issue I'm having with the Home Revert function. In CPS, it allows me to designate 2 Home Revert channels. So I did that for my 2 main channels. Then when assigning functions to the buttons, I put Home Revert 1 on P1, and Home Revert 2 on P4. Home Revert 1 works just fine, when I press P1 on the radio, it goes right to that channel. I cannot say the same for P4/Home Revert 2. When I press it, the radio does nothing. It doesn't even beep or flash. The radio is not reading the function when the button is pressed. I have programmed other functions on the P4 button, and they work fine. I have even tried the Home Revert 2 function on other buttons, and I get the same negative result. The same is for my keypad microphone. No matter what button I assign Home Function 2, the radio does not register it.

Please Help!! Thanks!

I am sending you my email address in a PM. Send your current codeplug and I will see if I can fix it.

Isnt the home revert 2 a long press function.
Try long pressing the P4 button and see if that gets you to the home 2 location.

That's not automatic or necessary. I have all my CDM's setup for Home Revert 1 on P1 Short and Home Revert 2 on P4 Short, same as the OP. He's probably not got Home Revert 2 properly defined in Radio Configuration --> Home Revert tab.

I asked him to send me his codeplug and provided my email address in a PM. I will be happy to look at the codeplug and see what's what. But he hasn't replied yet.
