A county in my area will be rebanding and upgrading there analog Motorola Type11 trunk system to whats called the Motorola "unscanable" Shuffle system, can anyone give me a idea on why its unscanable....Thank You

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Radios that have been upgraded to be Rebanding capable are also capable of supporting the Shuffled Band Plan. The Shuffled band plan is intended to help prevent unauthorized system monitoring and access on Shuffled Band Plan enabled systems. Shuffled Band Plan shuffles all trunking numbered-channels allowed in the band plan.
Note that Shuffled Band Plan can only be enabled by the Rebanding Capable CPS program with an appropriate Advanced System Key per Trunking System. This feature is designed and implemented for Motorola 3600 Type II Trunking systems.

Any word on when Grundy Co. plans on switching?
There license (Grundy Co) for rebanding and adding possible two new freqys appeared on the ILL-Grants this week...Sources tell me this will most likely take place in the coming months....
Thank you for the info on the "MOTO Shuffle" system, lets hope the "Upmans" info on using the "-" polarity on the "custom band plan works, i will report back when changes in the system appear....

A PSR-500 family scanner will also handle that system. You'll just have to enter the appropriate "trunking table".
