I have a BCD436HP and wanted to receive a system that uses the Motorola type II smartnet protocol. The listing here at RR states:

The Beau Rivage Casino/Hotel Motorola 900 MHz system has now been replaced and all users are on a private internal Nextel-branded digital system, which cannot be monitored. As of Jan '09 the old system is still on the air but only an occasional custodial team keys up.

I thought the 436hp could pick up this system as the above was written in 2009. Am I wrong? The system in question is Mississippi, Harrison County, Beau Rivage Casino and Hotel. SID is 2878. Thanks.

How do you know it is still on the air?
Do you see control channel data?

The 436 can monitor the old system. The new system cannot be monitored.

Thanks UpMan. I was hoping that since it was written so long ago that the scanner was able to cover the new system by now. Guess not. Maybe coming in a future update!?!

If it really is a NEXTEL (they don't exist anymore, do they?) system, this probably means PTT service over mobile network, which would be 100% encrypted.

NexTel was purchased by Sprint, I believe.

But, AFAIK they still administer the IDEN networks.
