The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a motorola XTS5000 VHF quick call II that has quick call signalling on 3 channels. I want to scan these three channels with the channel closed (waiting on valid QC II tone set) but the channel is open when it scans but closed on the channel when not on scan. How can I change it to closed when scanning the QC II enabled channels?

You SHOULD be able to set the Signaling Squelch to "AND" but I have not gotten my XTS5000 VHF to do this. I have been programming the HT/CDM for years and they all work fine, but not the XTS. I cannot get it to let me use more than one QC tone set,it always reverts back to #1 ?

SD70MAC:

Your FPP XTS5000 will only allow you to select from one signaling system for the first 240-ish channels, these are your FPP channels. Outside of that you can go wild on signaling systems. This was never an issue on older FPP XTS5000 radios, the ones with Q53 but not Q52 and host/dsp9 etc. What you would need to do is go beyond channel 240 and add new personalities. These will allow what you want.

As for the scanning thing, what is the host/dsp of your radio? It may be helpful.

past the first 254 FPP modes, it should allow you to do whatever you want beyond that. My radio has several zones of unprogrammed FPP channels to get to the non-FPP zones so I could add different features and signaling systems.

Josh,

I did find that the QC was resetting in 5 sec and have fixed that issue. It was decoding the QC I just did not see it because it was so fast to reset. I am going to work on adding channels past the FPP on Monday & Tuesday ,thats the next days I'm off because I work the next 3 days.
