If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello everyone,

We are currently using a Capacity Plus system, and I've observed that when a transmission occurs, the Radio ID is displayed. However, once the transmission ends, the Radio ID disappears. Is there any adjustment I can make in the codeplug to extend the duration of the Radio ID display, or to keep it visible until the next transmission?

Thank you!

On the mobile or portable to my knowledge I don’t think there is a setting that can extend the UID. Since it changes with each transmission that is being keyed. On the consoles there is a window that can show last UIDs on the different talkgroups, etc.

I have not found anything on my R7 to do this. Once the other station is done, that is it. Only way I have a slight history is with the audio record feature. Go to the playback and it will display the last 5 radio ID's with its recording. But that won't last long if the talkgroup is a busy one as the recordings are constantly being over written.

Thank you for the response. This is the number one complaint everyone has in my department. On our old Kenwoods the last Radio ID would stay until the next transmission.

On the R7's there is a alias list of the transmissions that went thru. It stays there until radio is turned off.

Thank you for the response. I was hoping to see the radio ID/alias longer. But I’m finding out this isn’t possible.
