From the database and all you need are the control frequencies, the red ones in the database. Radio usually will be more responsive leaving out the voice frequencies too.

MENU, Press E/yes, Silver scroll knob to your Alpena, Press E/yes, Silver Scroll knob to Edit Site, Scroll to New Site, Scroll to Set Quick Key and select the # that matches your current Alpena quickkey#, Press E/yes, Scroll to Set Frequencies, Press E/yes twice, then type in a frequency, press E/yes, Press MENU twice and at Set Frequencies press E/yes, Scroll to New frequency, put in the next frequency as before, repeat till done with the frequencies.
Press MENU twice and scroll up to the Edit Name, use the 4/6 keys and the scroll knob to change the name, once done ,press E/yes.
After that is done, you press SCAN
