MT-1000 VHF Scan List Questions

I am getting a MT-1000 and i have the software looking at it to get an idea of how i want to program it, i am getting at 16ch verison, i am told only 8ch can be in the scan list, is there anyway to get all 16 or have atleast more than 8 in the scan list, thanks
