Multicoupler versus splitter

Is there a difference between the outdoor antenna connected directly to the scanner versus through the Stridesburg?

And what happens when you hook the outdoor antenna directly to the scanner?

Should I put all the 800 frequencies in that system are just the control frequencies

NO, connect the outdoor antenna directly to the scanner and see how it performs.

It's the same straight to the scanner, Would I need to get a antenna just for 800, the antenna I have is tuned for the 150s but it used to get the 800

So ifs the same, meaning your not getting great reception, connected thru the splitter, and directly to the radio, then maybe your coax or ant is no good.

The vhf frequecies seems to be ok but the multicoupler adds a little more static
