I live in the west side of Midland. I can hear DPS on multiple sites (Odessa, midland 800mhz, and Gardendale 800mhz) from my house. Is there any chance I would miss any traffic if I only scanned on of those sites? I have tried to move to another site during a transmission, but haven’t been able to do it. I assume everything should come across every site. Is this a bad assumption?

From my experience out there, DPS comes across all those sites most of the time. As long as there is a state-owned radio affiliated to a site, it will carry traffic on whatever talkgroup it is parked on. There are enough THP and CVE troopers out there that that is usually the case.
