I monitor the murs freq s here in cumberland co mostly 154.6.

I think it would be great for murs to catch on,for hams and everybody else.maybe clubs to be set up to monitor and help anyone with a murs radio,the range is great on them.you can use external antennas on them also to increase range to 5 mile or more.

Their used to be a guy in the Hildebran area just west of Hickory that had a cool murs website. You could post your location on a U.S. map. As far as I know the site doesn't exist anymore.
Yep it could be a nice hobby,me and a friend have murs radio set up as base stations with external antennas and i have no problem talking to him about 15 to 16 miles from here.and we have never//// had anyone break -in.we don't use 154.570 because of walmart.
