For the Ice Rescue this afternoon the dispatcher moved everyone to “Interop 1.”

Is this a talk group or like an I-tac simplex?

That's probably a TG.

Maybe one of these:

3905f41D61SPEV1Special Event 1Interop
3906f42D61SPEV2Special Event 2Interop
3907f43D61SPEV3Special Event 3Interop

Don't be afraid to call and ask the FD guys what it means, maybe even non-emergency dispatch.

That's TERRIBLE advice! Nobody wants to get a phone call from Joe Scanner Listener asking what they meant when they said something on the radio. That telephone conversation will get talked about in every meeting the dept has about radio communications and encrypting the county's radio systems.

It is one of talkgroups we don't have as yet. They have 8 INTEROPS, 8 Special events, just no talkgroup#'s info as yet here.
Do some searching, let us know! :)

Most likely these are encrypted, i've heard them move to those before and I don't hear anything. Ronald, how do we know how many interops and special events there are if we don't have the talkgroups identified yet?

I looked at my Unitrunker logs from Jan 18th ice rescue and I think 23218 or 23216 is Interop1. Both were used by multiple fire department units around the time of the rescue. I only had datestamps, not timestamps, so I couldnt pinpoint the time, but dispatch interop changeover was at 11:17AM.
