I am trying to think of a way to mute the quick call pager tones on my p25 radio channel.

Just simply using fire tone out would not work because a stacked tone set would still allow a second quick call tone to be heard after the speaker opens from the first one.

The goal is to just have the dispatch audio play with no tones ahead.

Any thoughts?

Using a scanner? Not possible.

Sometimes if you're lucky, although it's rare, the tones might be encoded over an analog channel with no PL, followed by the voice message with PL encoded. In that case you simply program the PL and you don't hear the tones, but again it's rare. And certainly not possible with tones going out over a P25 channel, which requires a NAC at all times.

Hm,

There is a VHF side but it is CSQ. I wonder if the audio was sent through a PC if a way smarter than me tech person could write a code to ignore certain hz. Etc. or similar.

It’s a busy channel with 20+ FD’s and the tones are much louder than the voice.

With the OP25 scanner software I use, the digital alert tones are not decoded as tones but instead come out as quiet "clicks". The computerized voice that follows on one of the systems is fairly loud, but there are no tones.

Are the tones sent CSQ and the audio with a tone?

If not, can you get your radio guy to change it? Back when I supported fire, pretty sure that was the way I had it set up.

Is that with SDR?

Both are CSQ but there is no carrier drop between the two transmissions. They are sent from the same radio

OK, Just reread your post about it being P25. Would be so much easier if this was analog. Most analog systems will send station ID with no PL, so it's easy to filter out.
