My 796D is done

I was having problems scanning digital with my 796. It worked great for awhile, then started not to work unless I turned it off and back on, now this morning it will not receive digital at all. works fine on analog.

I had the same problems. I removed the card from the back of the radio and checked the contacts to make sure they were clean. Then I downloaded the software updates for the 796D at the Uniden Web site and it works great now.

I downloaded the upgrades, but when I try to download to the *******, I just get "communication error" screens. I have the correct com port set (I tried them all just for fun), and turned on the ******* holding down the right buttons but nothing. Any other settings to check?

Looking through the forums, I think alot of people are having this problem. Just F.Y.I., I talked to Uniden customer service. We went through all the settings, downloads etc. It is a radio problem, and I need to send it to Ft.Worth for service.
