So I bought the remtronix 842 antenna and the ABBREE AR-771T i paid $40 for the 842 on ham outlet and a few bucks for the AR-77IT on aliexpress and i have been testing these antenna's out i mostley listen to VHF and UHF and the only thing i have on 800mhz is the power company. So far i am not impressed with the 842 the antenna will not pick up anything and i mean it's like it's just dead and it's suppose to be a tri band antenna. Now the AR-77IT has shocked me because it will pick up things in the VHF and in the UHF and it does a good job at it to. Also i'm using them on a SDS100 even the stock antenna does better than the 842.

I read alot of really good reviews on the remtronix 842 and i bought it thinking this would do a really good job but the cheap antenna is blowing it out of the water anyway's i thought i would just post my experience so far with these two antenna's. If i had it to do over again i would not have bought the 842 i also have the 820 and it does a great job on the 800mhz which is what it was designed for and so i figured since it done a great job then the 842 must as well, Nope not my experience. Anyway's thanks

What's the exact antenna? Don't see a 771T listed on ABBREE. And the genuine ones do not have transparent material on them, at least what's listed on their site..

Do see a AR 771 GMRS which for a dual band, only seems to resonate well in UHF

Not knocking you by any means, and its cool a 2 dollar antenna is out performing a Remtronix.

Keep in mind that you live in a valley, in-between mountains if I recall? So many of the 842 reviews are more than likely from users who do not live in the conditions you live in.

This is the one i'm using and it does perform so much better than the remtronix i was actually shocked and sad that my expensive one didn't do what i bought it for.

All the AR 771T on Ali say SMA female. And 842 shows SMA male. Doesn't the SDS have a female SMA? Which would require a male SMA head?

, which means SDS100 has a fmale SMA.

Yes the sds100 does have a sma i use a adapter and i have bnc on all my antennas it's just easier to switch in and out and it doesn't wear out the connector on the scanner.
