Hi folks,

I'm new here, and so is my feed: Sacramento Police Department North Command - Channels 1 & 2.

I appreciate the other public safety feeds that are here on RadioReference.com, but my scanner is generally always set to SacPD's Channels 1 & 2 because that's the area I live in and I prefer to have less traffic with more relevance and less chance for missing pieces of the conversations.

I use a pair of Radio Shack PRO-158s -- both with cloned programming. I bought one used on eBay for less than $20, supposedly DOA, so that I could salvage the clip, but it turns out it worked fine but just had the rechargeable battery toggle flipped -- score!! :) One of the scanners (the one without the clip) is connected to a desktop computer all the time, set to scan only SacPD channels 1 & 2. The other scanner is in another room or with me.

The feed should be really stable, barring unforeseens -- everything is set to launch itself in the event of a reboot or power interruption.

For those who live or take interest in SacPD stuff north of the American River, I hope you enjoy the feed.

I'd call it Sacramento Police North Dispatch, not command. It's a huge difference when a fire channel, but don't usually hear patrol channels referred to as "command" channels.

Ah, interesting. Well, you're thinking of a "command channel" like what the fire agencies use -- but that's not what I mean by "North Command." I am referring to Sacramento Police Department's North Command, meaning Sectors 1 & 2 which report out of the William J. Kinney Police Facility. I'm using the police department's own definition of "command."

And it's not just North Dispatch -- that's solely Channel 1. My feed also includes Channel 2, which is a channel not used for dispatch, but rather, longer conversations between officers.

I explain all of this this in the "Feed Notes" area.

I'll definitely keep your feedback in mind though, in case others are similarly confused. Maybe there's a clearer yet still accurate way to reflect what the feed contains.

Thanks!

Big ups on the feed :D

I could swear someone used to have a feed for both Roseville PD and Fire a few months back but it seems to be gone from the database. So I've thought about doing the same myself with Roseville. I live within about a block and a half from the radio tower for the Roseville system(its atop the PD) so i get excellent reception here at the house. Lol I've noticed that I don't even need an antenna on my bc246t if I'm outside.

I dont have an extra scanner capable of receiving a rebanded system though or any small low power hardware i could use as stream server. Upstream is probably not the best either :/
