If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

hi Guys

well I am installing the Radioddity CS-47 in my friends Jeep on Sunday and will do some RF bonding and try a few antenna's..... I was thinking if I send him out for a range test, what do I compare it to???
so I did a review and range test on YouTube and if you're interested, you're welcome to watch... but trust me I bore myself to death so don't bother watching.
I got 9.01 miles from my F150 with Tram 3500 back to my base station Antron 99 that is about 50 to the tip

that is an amazing little radio.. it took a long time for me to even get used to it.... but it fits in the palm of my hand really nicely... the screen is easy to see and I like to be able to hold it up to my face and see the signal strength.... where if I had a normal CB installed under the dash it's hard for my old eyes to see it.

I talked on that radio and drove it around for a few hours I talked to people in several towns and everyone said I sounded good and was very clear! ..... the tiny little speaker in the mic was GREAT no problems hearing it as it sat on my dashboard
so I am giving it two thumbs up!

Nice review! That looks like a pretty decent radio. If they’d fix a few little things it would be a GREAT radio! I do like that the remote mount with the hand held controls is finally starting to show up. Modern cars really need that. In your video you had some guys carrying on a pretty nice round table. I wish that kind of thing happened out here In Los Angeles. It reminds of my days growing up and using the radio for social chit chat. These days all I hear out here is skip and over modulated wing nuts with screaming racial epithets after they park for the night. Still, it’s tempting to put one in my Subaru. I’ve been doing lots of long trips lately and it would be fun to surf the channels just to pass the time.

Better to have it and not need it than . . . .

Those paid to disrupt AM-19 are pretty obvious. SoCal gets it for free.

I’d bet there’s plenty of old working radios around. Social pressures are pretty funny in that state. Obvious as hell. Cool/Not Cool.

I’m not a fan of handset controls as it’s a mic that will get banged up with/without a latte spilled on it. Buh-bye lil radio.

HARRISON 2 is the one gets the job done with optional PRESIDENT devices to keep problems at bay when size & low cost (non-SSB) are chosen.

Power & Antenna Systems won’t differ.

Radio & Speaker are what will define Acceptable/Unacceptable against a true high performance system when we look across NRC offerings.

The test is windows open at speed.
And panicky passengers.

Folks fumble with firearms in high stress.
This fumbling is a common report after a major highway incident.

Sometimes it’s funny. “My dog was howling like a coyote”. “My wife dumped her iced tea on me”. “I dropped the mic between the seats and couldn’t get it out”. “My mic got tangled on the shifter so I yanked it and the radio came out of the console”.

Heard’em all.

Thank you.
The radio would be perfect if it had two up and down buttons for the squelch.... Or they gave you more than 2 seconds to make a change after pressing the function key.
For the $65.00 I paid for it on Prime day ( you could get it either on Amazon or Radioddity web site but you can always use the $10.00 off code at Radioddity ... Amazon was $75.00) how could anyone complain

I didn't bother to show the 7 colors everyone has seen that... And I didn't show the band A- Through -M.... Plus it has EU UK U and a free other bands for other countries. . If you don't have a ham license you shouldn't be playing with them so I didn't show them.
I believe 100% modulation is 4 times the dead key??? So a great 4 watt radio puts out 16 watts ... My old President Grant Export dead keys at 11 watts and modulates way up there like 25 to 30.... But this 7 watt radio only did 17 watts so that's only a out 55%..... I wish I could adjust it.
For the price I don't think anyone can go wrong.

People make a big deal out of the watts thing, but a CB probably averages more like 10-12 watts and with a proper set up that will talk pretty far. Like I’ve said in another thread, my vehicle mounted radio in the Army only put out 15 watts FM. That measly 15 watts worked pretty well, mostly because are vehicle had what was a super heavy duty 9 foot whip mounted on a 28 ton chunk of metal. The difference of between 12 and 20 or even 30 watts isn’t as much as people think. What’s more important is that it doesn’t sound like a splattering mess. Good clean audio really the most important thing. Too many out there don’t understand that.

I don’t drink lattes!

You are 100% CORRECT I bench test and range test a lot of radios watts mean nothing... I've seen great radios with 10 watts do the same range as 3.5 watt radios ... It usually the big full size radios that do the best range ...

I try to do them all with one of my Tram 3500s I loan them out for tests so people can see the difference from a fire stick or the lil will... Those are the two most common antennas people have, that ask me if I can get their system working better ... So I always say try this and we have to get rid of that cigarette lighter plug!!!..
