Will the NJSP switch to the NJICS?

doubt it. they have alot of money invested in 800 system sites, and receivers...many more than the NJICS

I was told they would be upgrading their SmartZone system to P25. No timeline from my source. Last time I flipped though one of their APX6500s, it only had their SmartZone system programmed in, which I found odd. And the APX6000s carried by SOME of the specialized units only had NJICS. Go figure.

Two months ago, I monitored NJICS for Troop B, and heard activity from the road patrols. It came and went as quickly and have heard no more.

The NJSP talkgroups on the NJICS are only active if there is a radio affiliating to it. B2-04 East is usually always active cause there's a secondary console somewhere in Totowa HQ that they never take off it.

I was told the same thing as what Signal-Zero mentioned. That the 800 will go P25, and the NJSP groups on the 700 will remain intended for interop.
