Have a few freqs entered as narrow-band VHF-Hi, (for example 154.1975)....but the display for the 6.25 spacing and the "NFM" mode designation blinks whenever the particular channels are up.....whereas standard freqs do not show the mode/spacing info blinking - they remain solid. Peculiar.... or just the way the unit is supposed to work? Of note, the CTCSS tone is solid in any of these cases.

Thanks.

I think the blinking means that you've overridden the factory default settings. My PRO-43 does the same thing when I set 138 MHz frequencies to AM mode.

Must be. The unit functions/receives normally, otherwise. Thanks for the response, Dave. Oddly enough, I posted the initial thread under the 898T tab, but it came up out here in the general Uniden section.

While on the topic of the 898T....I have a fresh one just in from the factory (last week) w/ the ?firmware update already taken care of by Uniden (confirmed)....and yet the radio still fails to decode tones on rare occasions...anyone else having this issue, despite the update?
