If anybody reading this bought a Whistler radio and are still in the warranty time frame, if there's anyone reading this who does have a Whistler radio in for repair and has not been able to contact them to find out the status of the repair maybe come forward and say how long it's been they've had their radio held. If anybody reading this has been able to contact the company, get the radio repaired and then have it returned, how long ago was that.

Just out of curiosity and an attempt to assess the situation better, hopefully those involved will step up and let us know their experiences, especially if they've been left in a pickle.
I sent my TRX-1 in on the middle of August this year, finally showed up as recieved in their repair status page at the end of September.

If a magazine posted a story like that without absolute verification, well, bad "journalism". Or FAKE NEWS!
NOT fake news. As a career journalist who has worked for the largest media companies, I know that multiple sources are needed for verification, and if you read my story, you would have seen that we went to great lengths to data verify our information. The only thing we did not have was an official word from the company, but after multiple attempts to reach them, we took their radio silence as they didn't want to talk. The way they shut down, why would they reach out? We will continue to follow the story at National Communications Magazine | Chuck Gysi | N2DUP | Substack as we find out more information.

Do not forget Regency
Regency was bought out by Uniden. I have a Regency R 1600 which is identical to the Uniden BC 760XLT except for the shape of the buttons under the display. The scanner has Regency on the faceplate and a Uniden label on the back. Maybe, Uniden bought out Whistler. It would be a good way to eliminate competition.

N2DUP- I just Googled Whistler Group, Inc out of Bentonville, AR and it brought up the company name and address along with city/state, and it clearly states, "PERMANENTLY CLOSED" so you did good groundwork here.
Happy holidays.

Not going to go off topic here but it looks like a lot of information in the story is the same information we have been posting for quite a while.

Chuck Gysi, I remember as a good guy and great editor of frequency guide books.

Not going to go off topic here but I too I'm a long time print journalists now retired from a seven day a week daily, things are not the same as they used to be and we would never publish a story without 2 good sources on the record. It's not like that anymore. Not going to get into this here.

Anyone can update Google just like Wikipedia, I've found companies listed as closed that were still operating.

ecps92, if their website doesn't respond, their 800 number doesn't go through and Scanner Master in MA has ZERO stock, what does that tell you? Common dude!
Have a nice holiday season.
Dude, what are we in California in the 80's, Dude ?

Web sites get moved, just like Factories, Repair facilities. Yawn
I seem to recall they were moving ? in a previous thread, now closed

Fact is I'll wait for FACTS from the Vendor vs rehash of the numerous threads in these forums, others and Anti-Social Media, Dude.

Not nocking Scanner Master but Richard hasn't had a store front in years.
And like most retailers of now-a-days rely on external vendor sources. (Just my Opinion)

We now return y'all back to the discussion of rumors, inuendo's and ..... drone chasing

Almost no one read your story because it's posted on a trash paywall spammy website. Substack is hot garbage.
You're basing your info on what? Actually, this article received more views than any other. We have received a ton of new subscribers from RadioReference alone. The paywall does NOT keep people from reading the article. Unlike your local daily newspaper, we offer hobbyists the opportunity to read an article for free and receive a free one-week subscription to check us out. It is with that we hope they become a paying subscriber. If not, you still receive at least one article per month for free. Call it what you may, but we give people every opportunity to check us out for free and even read articles for free. Your comments have no basis.

let's see the website is down , the links for the down loads disappeared 2 or 3 weeks ago. support for the ez scan has been down for a while. can't even download any updates directly from the app software .. no communication from them or very little, they've had problems since at least july.. safe to say they are gone.

How about we take a break for now. No one knows for sure what's going with them so it's all just speculation at this point.

If anyone has any verified update just report this post with your info and we'll go from there. Who knows, maybe we'll get a surprise next year. ;)
