Hi guys,

The obvious question is "What's the frequency Kenneth?" I hope somebody hears it and reports back before it's concluded.

If they use HF during the exercise - and I kinda doubt it - someone on the Utility DXers Forum at Yahoo will no doubt spot it. The link is on the Utility monitoring wiki 73s Mike

If this is NEPTUNE WARRIOR/JMC then yes they use HF, and a fair amount of it too.

Most of the traffic is on or around 5MHz, and during daylight so monitoring in the US will be limited.

UHF is the order of the day though, but there are a few alligator co-ord nets on HF, and there is some crosstel with BOULMER and the warships.

No it's not Neptune Warrior 062...unless Neptune Warrior has gone on holiday from the waters around Scotland (and who could blame them given the past few days weather).

The reference is to exercise Steadfast Jaguar in the Cape Verde islands.

Neptune Warrior comms are pretty much 24 hours a day on all parts of the radio spectrum available to the military.
