NC State Fair Monitoring Guide 2018

It's time again for the NC State Fair! Opening day (weather permitting) is this THURSDAY!!!!

NOTE: To monitor the NCSHP Training Center or West Raleigh VIPER Site during the NC State Fair you must have a digital scanner capable of following 700Mhz Sites!!!

For those with scanners the following digital Statewide Event talkgroups on VIPER will be used for this years NC State Fair:

Statewide Events Echo 1 (TG 51971)= LE Interior Ops
Statewide Events Echo 2 (TG 51972)= EMS/Fire Ops
Statewide Events Echo 3 (TG 51973)= Dorton Arena
Statewide Events Echo 4 (TG 51974)= SHP Traffic Posts
Statewide Events Foxtrot 1 (TG 51975)= Special Ops

And on the Wake County System the following will be used:
Wake PS Event 6A (Analog TG 26832) = Fairgrounds staff/Non-Sworn personnel

On the feed I'm also adding Dept of Agriculture (51601-51608) and State Fire Marshall's (52046-52050) Viper talkgroups, as well as the old Fairgrounds Admin/Main/Maint Wake Trunked System talkgroups (32, 48, and 64) though I haven't heard them used in a while.

NC Dept of Labor Ride Inspectors have previously been monitored using the callsign ROBERT-IDA (Ride Inspector) and heard on normal fair related talkgroups.

NC State Fair Opening Delayed

The NC State Fair has announced that due to the incoming tropical storm, opening day will be pushed back to FRIDAY October 12, 2018. Everyone be safe tomorrow!!!

I've added a new talkgroup (46516) on the Viper system that is not in the database and is being used by Fairgrounds staff. It appears to be in the Wake County TG range and the only RIDs I've noticed are in the 20000xx range. If anyone can identify the actual usage please let us know.

This *might* be a patch between VIPER and Wake PS EVENT 6A.
I am not in the area where I can monitor both at the same time to confirm but I have a sneaking suspicion this might be what is going on.

The 2018 State Fair Has Ended

The 2018 State Fair has ended, I'm leaving the feed up for a couple of days to monitor move out, however I have removed the Viper event talkgroups as they are no longer in use at the fairgrounds.

Let's plan on reviving the feed next year, thanks for listening.
