NC Viper System

Hello, I got a question. The NC State Viper System. Its set up in 3 zones. I was wondering if there was a Freq. that help pick up the whole state and not just one zone.

First of all this should be asked in the VIPER thread for you to get more answers.

Secondly, frequencies are based on sites (also called towers) over the four zones, each site has it's own frequencies. On the site you are only able to hear talkgroups affiliated to that site. So, while you can hear talkgroups from across the state (in theory) it only happens if they are on the site you are able to receive. The simple answer to your question is NO.

What kind of radio, scanner, or pager are you programming?

Also, like @N1GAW said, VIPER consists of different sites around the state. There are around 220-250 sites across the state. Each site has a different control channel. With distance, some control channels do overlap after 90 or so miles between sites so in truth there are about 125 different control channel frequencies across the state. The 4 zones have nothing to do with your receiving.
