There are a couple in Joplin that sell Two Way, commercial stuff.

http://www.rcsonline.net/

And there may be others. I won't comment on either one, no bad, no good.

Having a two way shop here in Missouri, we have CB's in some of our trucks,
those that travel a lot, and when they need service.... We take them to the
CB Shop on the east side of Tulsa, by the closed (soon to be open I hear)
truckstop. My techs won't touch a CB, nor will I let them. (Not cost effective
for us, and we have no prints on them)

Scanners, we normally refer people to Walmart.

I wouldn't think there would be a high demand for a radio/cb shop. It seems like that would be hard business to run and make some money at it. I don't know what you'd find at a shop that you couldn't find cheaper online.

It has gotten very hard for a commercial two way shop to make money. Many have branched out into different fields, towers, alarms, CCTV, heck even Vending routes. The days of the "base and three" commercial users is gone pretty much.

The large systems are primarily going to self servicing end users, or to the very large
two way shops.

I noticed that Joplin moved there hamfest to a different part of the year this year. I'm not sure why.. but I guess I just have to wait. I used to go to it every year until the career started moving me around.

Thanks everyone, for the information.

Joplin has expanded their QRP convention they have in April, and have moved their hamfest to August 25-26.

The Joplin ARC is however sponsering a Tailgate Swap April 22. ( http://www.joplin-arc.org for more info)

Also, the Ararat Hamfest is April 15 in Kansas City, MO. It's usually a lot larger than the one in Joplin.

And if you go to KCMO, you can pop over to Overland Park, KS and drop in on Associated Radio (8012 S. Conser in the old OP downtown - for those not familiar with the area, Metcalf (also known as US 169) is ~5 miles west of State Line. 95th is the first major EW north of I-435. 83rd is the second (Fuddrucker's on the corner). From there, go 3 blocks north, 3 blocks west, then it's the second building south on the west side of the street.

And yes, it's a mom & pop ham radio store, with (usually) a pretty good used selection as well. They were at Green Country last month.
