Need assistance w/ Harford county

You will need to go to the Edit tab in Sentinel and click on Edit Profile. Go to the Scan Selection tab. Using favorites lists, you can uncheck the Monitor Full Database and Monitor Search with Scan boxes. Download and Monitor must both be On for each of the favorites lists you wish to write to the scanner. Go to the Service Types tab and enable all of the service types. Close the Profile Editor. Go to the File tab and click on Save. Here is a basic Howard County file with all of the most important talkgroups. I have files for Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County, and York County also. I will get them to you.

Thank you, I’m charging the battery up for now before I turn it on. Who is responsible for editing the channel tags in the database? I noticed two discrepancies with the Harford sheriff channels. Sheriff 2 is no longer northern, its now central talk group… and sheriff 3 is now northern.

BTW excellent reception of all of them WITHOUT an external antenna from about 8 miles.

I have 2 York County files, one using just the South site and the other with all 4 sites. Some of the private fire station and EMS talkgtroups have recently encrypted. I will have to check them out and get back to you.

So, by doing those changes it’ll break down each favorites list like you have organized, by each precinct or area?

For Baltimore City, I have each PD district in a separate department with its own quick key. City PD is supposed to be encrypted sometime in the future. In Baltimore County, each precinct has its own department and quick key. Presently, all law enforcement for Harford County (sheriff, local police, and state police) are all on department quick key 8. Using Sentinel, you can assign a separate quick key to each department, putting the sheriff, local police, and state police on separate quick keys for being able to select which ones you want to monitor. You can also add additional departments and put each sheriff precinct and each local PD (Belair, Aberdeen, and Havre de Grace) in their own departments with their own department quick keys to be able to select a single sheriff precinct, local police agency, or state police or any combination to monitor. I am in bel air. Trying to hear all the local police channels (Harford sheriff office, bel air, havre de Grace, Aberdeen) as well as fire/EMS. thank you for your help. I’m not understanding how to program my scanner. I put in all the frequencies / TGID under P25 and can’t hear anything except 1 ems. Can you please break it down for me on how to program?

I’m not sure if the sentinel program uniden has will do that model of scanner or not. I will say that being in bel air you may have some issues with simulcast distortion, as all of Harford county is currently using simulcast…That's a big part of why I opted for the SDS.

Sentinel is just for the BCD436HP, BCD536HP, SDS100, and SDS200. The is a separate Sentinel for the HomePatrol 1 and HomePatrol 2. There is a good chance that heathera0402 will have simulcast problems with the BCD396XT. I have been working with the member in a PM to get the scanner programmed.

Freescan would program the 396XT, although that radio itself would likely not perform well on Harford County / CMARC.
