Need help tecsun pl880

IM an old fart getting back into shortwave after many years. I purchased a tecsun pl 880 radio. The port to charge the battery says dc 5v/1a no such adapter came with the radio. Now what ? thank you for your help.

Just make sure you obtain the actual charger that is compatible with the 880. Here's a good article from years ago: The Tecsun PL-880 charger and battery

You may be able to get this charger from Anon-co in HK. Or obtain a good separate single/dual or multiple port battery charger. Make sure you get one with the correct USB jack -- I think the 880 used the old style USB port, not USB mini or the later USB-C

This a standard USB Mini connector and yes the USB cable did come with your unit. They do not provide a generic adapter (AC wall to USB Type-A) which you would need to plug into the wall socket.

If you have a laptop or desktop computer with USB ports (the original Type A) then you can charge your PL-880 with that cable.

Note, on some laptops, the laptop must be powered on in order for the port to continuously charge and/or be plugged in to its power adapter.
