Hi. I just recieved a new pro-95 scanner. I am the previous owner of a
pro-94 and was very efficient in programming it. I am having trouble
programing talkgroups. The regular frequencys are a piece of cake for
me to program and I need some help programing the talkgroups for my
county. The police department uses a Motorola Type II Smartnet system
which I thought was the eaisest type to program. I followed the
directions on the "Eaiser to read Pro-93/95/2053 Manual" and have done
these steps....

1.I programed a few basic aviation frequencys on my first bank
2.I hit PGM-Trunk
3.Typed 1936 (As listed as the DEC for my local police precinct on
http://radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&sid=189 )
4.Hit enter
5.Now it says

Bank 0-1 ON
ID No. 00
MOT: 01936
ID# 01936 |

But I get nothing at all. Am I doing something wrong? Did I mess a step?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you very much

Jason,

I don't what the last poster was talking about, but I also live in Baltimore County, Maryland. I have WIN 95 files for this area. You need to go to your local Radio Shack and purchase the USB Scanner Cable #20-047. Go to this link and download Win95 software for free.

Send me a private message from this site with your email address and I wil send you a file that can be loaded in the Pro-95. I guess that you are in the Dundalk/North Point Area of the County from the talkgroup that you are trying to load.

I would suggest getting the programming cable (if you don't already have it)

and to Download Win95 Software (free)

sounds like you didn't program the the trunking frequencies in it.
going by what you posted.

I would program in the frequencies in red first, then get it to trunk track properly, you can always add the names (for TGs) later on and or change them.
Win 95 really does make programming a lot easier, esp. for trunking.

hehe, 3 posts all at once...

If he can give you the file, you can just upload it to your scanner that way..

I don't use the Pro-95 much any more, since mainly use the Pro-96 or Pro-97, but do still a Pro-95 that got off ebay when making deliveries at work. I use the Pro-95, so not worried if something happens to it due to being an older scanner. I keep the files for the Pro-95 on the computer just in case. Had to reprogram it the other week, since reset it by mistake.

For anyone that needs them have Pro-96 and Pro-97 files for central Maryland, other parts of the state. Also have files that use when traveling to other states in the region.
