Hi, I have a problem with my PRO - 96 Scanner. I've been having problems with it ever sense I purchased it two years ago, first my first problem was setting all the frequencies in it. Then I didn't know how to use car to car.
Now my major problem right now is that I believe the Phoenix Police has changed there frequency channels and now my scanner isn't picking up anything. Is there anyway that I can fix this problem? I tried searching for the new Phoenix police scanner frequency but cant find them. Is this what's causing me, not to hear anything on my scanner?

If they changed frequencies, but you don't know what they are, that would be why you aren't hearing them on your scanner.

I have split this off topic subject off to the appropriate regional forum. Perhaps some locals can provide guidance for this fellow.

Somewhere in this room. Right now, you're very col
Thanks Lou... we'll take it from here. :)

OK, first off this system is a real PITA to monitor. Don't expect 100% great results with this white elephant of a system we have here.

Now, having said that, here's the channels you want in your scanner:

867.2125
867.9625
867.0875
867.1125
867.9375
867.9875
867.2000
867.9750
867.7500
867.8250
868.2750
868.3500
867.1375
867.1625
867.3500
868.0750
If you want the airport FD/PD, add this one: 868.3000 and 868.4500.

There's also a bunch of intellirepeaters and such for outlying areas but I keep them locked out - they actually cause you to miss comms if there's a CC running on them because the CC hardly ever has any traffic routed thru it.

I also lock out the CC's that I'm not in range of, because a marginal signal will cause the scanner to try and follow comms that it can't receive very well. It can be somewhat of a pain, but worth the effort.

Currently PPD is using A deck, B deck and C deck talkgroups in the clear - everything else is encrypted. If you scan the freq's I gave you in open mode, you'll no doubt find the encrypted stuff real fast - you can't miss the sound. Check the database here for talkgroup info - it's all there with the exception of a few odd Phoenix Fire TGID's that I haven't gotten around to sending in yet.

Also, deep in the annals of the Arizona Scanner yahoo group is a few P96 files for Phoenix. Any of those is a good start for PPD as well as plenty of other stuff to scan.

Good luck, hope that was a help to ya,
-AZ

New to the scanner

I just upgraded my PRO-96 because I wasn't picking up any of my frequencies. I tried adding the frequencies you have listed on your website and those are not picking up either. I'm very new to this scanner stuff. Is there anyway you can write down step by step what I should be putting into my scanner, so that I can pick up the Phoenix Police frequencies?
Thank You.

Make sure both the Rx/Mode and Bank Type are set to "MOT". If the bank is in closed mode - you'll have to enter the Talk Group ID's.

Phoenix police

I was having the same trouble. I programed 867.9625 and 867.1125 and all the TGIDs from RR database and I'm picking up A deck B deck C deck. There are other freqs that also register as active but these are the ones that work for me.
