If you are going to use a WINXX program, it'll need to be WIN96 (not WIN97).

It would be most helpful to know what system you are trying to program. That radio will not handle 700 Mhz trunking nor Phase 2. It's much too old for that

Might also depend on what OP you're using. My WIN97 worked great on Windows 98 and Windows 7. When I went to Windows 10 it wouldn't recognize the port, so I couldn't upload to the scanner.

I use ARC96 on Windows 10 & 11 with no problems. You should use the stereo to mono adapter for the PC/IF port on the PRO-2096. The bad news is that the PRO-2096 cannot trunk track 700 MHz frequencies.

You don't use the mini adapter cable.

Most importantly those 76X / 77X's MHz frequencies, the 2096 cannot trunk track. I see they are listed as control frequencies too.
2096 was made before those frequencies were allocated to 911. In other words you wont get much if not anything at all.
If you wanted to tune in the trunking... newer digital scanner.
It would trunk correctly, but would need to be in area that doesnt use 700 Mhz.

Still can get these, Putnam County, Ohio (OH) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference if they are still used as I see quite a few talkgroups being used by the MARCS system.
