I bought an XTS 1500 from auction but Astro 25 won’t allow me to edit the code plug any help in figuring out how to edit the codeplug to my needs would be appreciated

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Are you using Astro 25 Portables? What errors are you getting?
He already stated he's trying to program an XTS1500.
Ok, I'm not seeing any response from him/her on this subject. All I see is the request for help.

Your trying to modify a trunking system. Unless you have a system key you cant do anything.

You might be caught in the middle with not knowing what version of the programming software was last used on the radio. This is a common problem when you obtain a used radio.
You might ask the place you obtained the radio from if they have any idea what the last version of the programming software was used on your radio.

has nothing to do with it.. He is trying to edit the trunking codeplug without a system key.

I have the system key.
If the version of the software in the radio is newer than what your trying to use, it won't work.

Again... this is not the issue.. IF the software was too new he would not even be able to open the codeplug and view it
And I'm sure this was obtained from the system administrator right?

Try programming a few conventional freqs and see if the radio takes it and if it works ok. That will verify the software is working with the radio and that the radio is functional. Also proving that something is not being provided to satisfy the software when programming a trunking system.
