I am relatively new to amateur radio. I recently obtained a Kenwood 2000x. I have programmed all the repeaters available to me. I have yet to hear any activity, at all... Is there anyone here from Idaho, that might tell me where I can find Somthing, vhf/uhf? thank you

Most of the repeaters are dead air except for kerchunkers and a rare actual station. The 146.800 (88.5 hz tone) on Mt Sedgwick , gets some activity. I monitor 146.52 and the 146.800. The 146.820 gets some use but its somewhat of a closed group. Call on the .80, it has coverage from UT to MT I should hear you.

I have a son that lives in Rexburg, and whenever I visit I can usually find someone to talk too. Check out Eagle Rock ARC at erarc.org. That's your local club. Lots of good info. and activities. I used their web site as my main resource for repeater freqs. Best of luck. NC4WX

I'll talk to you. I monitor the .94 on relay ridge. There is also a gmrs repeater on RR. .600. The .880 on the south menan butte gets into IF quite nicely. Kg7otl
