Wonder if the DV-1 will be getting anything.

Where are you seeing this information, the current firmware listed on the Japanese site is for 2307A

You can find it here:

I’m new to the AOR DV-10 but looking on EBay and thinking of making a purchase. The seller is from Japan and says the receiver is unlocked. That’s all well and good I guess but I’m more curious how this will affect updating the firmware. It currently looks like a very old version (1912B) and wondering if this is a smart purchase with intent to upgrading firmware. Also, does anyone know if upgrading would locked the device if it’s unlocked?

Very much appreciate any and all advice!

As far as I know the DV10 locking is a hardware thing and not altered by firmware changes, upgrading firmware is not a problem, but I would be aware of is the early DV10's had drifting problems which it seems were corrected in later hardware changes..
Be best to get a newish one..

Caution - For what it is worth, I installed 2410A and immediately had problems with the receiver. It would only scan (and see) parts of the memories stored in the receiver, in other words, it was only seeing about 50% of the memory entries and thinking the rest were empty thru out all of the banks. It was seeing all of the banks, just not able to see all of the entries in each bank.

I restored the receiver back to firmware 2307A (which is what I had been running just fine) and everything is back to normal. Nothing actually got wiped out in the memory banks, scan banks, or anything else I can tell.

I used the version of 2410A that was on the Official AOR Japanese Website.
