I found 5 new AWIN TGID's today as I monitored the Lake City Tower. I monitored the Hopewell Tower Yesterday With Nothing New. I Monitored The Lake City Tower Today And I Have Found The Following Unidentified...

28306
28301
28309
These fall into the Jonesboro/Craighead County Utility Group So I Bet They're Related.. I Also Found These:

16201
12801

I Have no idea where these are from... Any ideas Anyone?

Would be interesting to see an OUT of TG range like that... Its so not in the same range as Mississippi County SO... Possibly an interop tg, or else we miss ID'ed Mississippi CO SO? But if it is MCOEM and you guys id it then itll just be one of those puzzles... Would be a rare bird for AWIN but anything is possible. :)

Looking at the AWIN TG set ups for each county, its not an Mississippi county TG. Quite possibly an BRS unit was using another county's TG to assist in an op? In fact thats an Craighead County range. Possibly Craighead County Interop? After all Craighead is your and Mississippi Co's nieghbors... And Blytheville is in that upper corner.

I live in the Troop C Area and run all of the county OEM and SO ID's. I know for sure the Miss. Co SO ID is correct. I hear them on it daily. I have never heard anything on the Miss. Co OEM one..

miss co oem just runs a radio check every wednesday at about 8:30pm. thats about the only traffic youll hear unless severe weather comes through, or the rural fire departments call for assistance from each other and they will use that channel for mutual aid. im having trouble picking up awin on my mobile unit? is this usually the case when your running one in a vehicle? i have a mag mount antenna, but unless im in an open area i can only hear bits and pieces. whats the deal?

I use a mag mount 800 MHZ antenna with a GRE scanner and I will tell you, I can barely get the hopewell tower from Paragould and it's not that far from me. I was in Leachville over the 4th of July and I was able to hear Jonesboro, Lake City, Burdette, and at times Hopwell so you should have great coverage over there However when I go out of town here I regain Lake City and Burdette. It's something about the city blocking it so that may be your problem also is city interference.. Also There is a HUGE difference between AWIN on a scanner and an actual AWIN radio, Whereas the radio itself will lock onto the closest tower.. A Scanner will not, I have used actual handheld AWIN's here in our county during the Ice Storm in 09 and for storm chasing and I can tell you for fact there were times the AWIN had a great signal and my scanner would not work at all! So It could be several different things, Terrain, City Interference, Atmosphere, Distance From Towers, Etc..
