Here's how they're programmed during the test phase. The repeater will eventually replace the County Fire-1 pagers, as both South River and East Brunswick will be toned out on each other's repeater sequentially for a larger coverage area. I'll keep you posted.

Code:
Name Receive Squelch
EBRS Repeater 150.950 Mhz 156.7 Hz CTCSS
EBRS Rescue-Ground 150.950 Mhz 156.7 Hz CTCSS
EBRS Rescue-Tac 158.355 Mhz 156.7 Hz CTCSS
SRRS Repeater 150.950 Mhz 103.5 Hz CTCSS
SRRS EMS-2 OPS 153.920 Mhz 103.5 Hz CTCSS
SRRS EMS-3 TAC 166.450 Mhz 103.5 Hz CTCSS
SRRS EMS-4 TAC 158.355 Mhz 103.5 Hz CTCSS
SRRS Talkaround 150.950 Mhz 103.5 Hz CTCSS

The South River frequencies existed before SRRS switched to EB's trunked tadio system and are still in use-- this is just a comprehensive list, I guess, as the EBRS radios are programmed this way. No one will be leaving the TRS-- EBRS intends to use these as pagers, for coordination with other members when responding to calls (all EMTs/Drivers should have one) and for "tactical" communications on-scene, such as at MCIs. EBRS will not be paged on County Fire-1. Sorry for the confusion.

EDIT:
Update: Complete usage is planned for the end of April/beginning of May. The antenna motorola put up at police headquarters isn't cutting it, so it is being replaced. If the new antenna solves coverage problems, the dual-repeater dispatch plan may be abandoned.

The current PL of 156.7 Hz is supposedly shared by AAA (even though their license WPBX634 is no longer valid) and a jewish organization I can't remember the name of, so it will be changed.

UPDATE:

Still waiting on that gosh darn antenna to be shipped. Also, at most, the first three MURS channels will be added for additional talkaround capability (151.820, 151.880, 151.940). South River has five channels, we have to keep up. The new CTCSS (possibly DCS) tone is as of yet unknown. I'll keep you posted.

The new squelch tone for the three EBRS frequencies is DCS 703. MURS 1 thru 3 are in use, identiied as "Local 1-3" at the same DCS. Rollout is expected for mid to end July.

EDIT:
Wondering why 703 DCS? It was chosen and programmed by John Kosik (the OEM guy) to avoid interference with other agencies. John Kosik is a District 1 Firefighter. District 1 uses 700 series units. I believe 703 is the brush truck.

We all know that. The point of this thread is the administrative and tactical communications within these two EMS Units. It has nothing whatever to do with communications with hospitals, other squads, or JEMS requirements.. Read the WHOLE thread or at least the Cliffnotes.. Old habits apparantly do die hard.

As per STATE guidelines and NJSFAC standards, all radios must at least have JEMS 1-4

Really? So my old squad, which chiefly uses 800 MHz EDACS, is required to have dual-band radios? That could get pricey, as they have low-band and 800 radios, and probably will soon have UHF-T trunkers too. (Aside: gotta love interoperability!)

The NJSFAC requires that every rig have mobile and portable ability on JEMS 1-4, but not that EVERY radio the squad owns/uses have them. Besides, as Bruce pointed out, this thread is about a few particular channels, not the complete programming lineup of EBRS' radios.

Since it was asked, though, here's the anticipated programming, to my knowledge:

Zone 1: East Brunswick
EBRS Repeater
Rescue-Ground
Rescue-Tac
Local 1
Local 2
Local 3

Zone 2: South River
SRRS Repeater
SRRS-2 OPS
SRRS-3 TAC
SRRS-4 TAC
SRRS T/A

Zone 3: County
JEMS 1-4
CH-5 Medic Operations (RX Only)

EDIT: Not counting, of course, the Township radios, or the VHF and Township mobiles in the trucks.

MRedding. Thanks for the insider look at the proposed EB/SR utilization. Unsolicited opinions and suggestions from outsiders are like rectal openings - everyone has them and none smell good. Disregard the above for those reasons from Misunderstandings R Us  Just another EB Disaster Bum's Opinion.

I think the scan lists on these radios are user modifiable from the menu, but I believe the default will be set for just the East Brunswick frequencies.

Why would anyone want to scan the State Police Entertainment Network's channel four anyway? Full Metal Jacket clips, anyone?

Gee, JEMS/SPEN 4 usually sounds like FRS or CB chatter channel. Radio discipline is always lousey. Don't think anyone listens seriously to this (unfortunately it's a loss).
