I have tried to set up my feed using both the RR recommended Scannercast and Radio Feed...both seem to be configured to work, but there is no audio going thru to be able to listen to. All I see or hear is a low buzz.....I am using a Homepatrol scanner and have my cable plugged into the line out. On the computer, I have the line plugged into the line in. Sound card is a Sigma Tel Audio and it shows to be working. What am I doing wrong...When I listen on Broadcastify it shows to be online, but still just the low buzz or no audio at all...

Did you take a look at the Windows Mixer. Go to the Recording side and check the input is enabled and input level controls are up. When using RadioFeed, do you see the level indicators move?

The level indicators are moving so something is going across. But when you listen, all you hear is hum....its like it doesn't pick up the audio at all.
Home Patrol does have a headphone jack, but if you plug into it, it cuts off the audio, and runs it thru the headphones or whatever. Even that didn't work for the feed.
Line out jack from Home Patrol is a 2.5mm jack. I have this 2.5 mm jack adapter plugged into the HP and have a 3.5mm cable plugged into the adapter. The other end is a 3.5 plugged into the sound card. I have tried both the mic and line in on the sound card and the only thing I get is the hum.

Might check the volume level under Sound. Recording, click on income feed then levels. I had turned mine down to zero not knowing and it cut all the audio going to sound card. Didn't know until got problem report turned in.

That doesn't work might try aftermarket USB sound card. I used both I-Mic 2 and a cheapo on ebay both have work great.

Cheapo USB External 7 1 Channel 3D Virtual Audio Sound Card Adapter PC A 229 | eBay

I-mic Griffin IMIC Audio Cable Adapter 1 50 ft 1 x Type A Male USB 2 x Mini P | eBay

Thanks for the reply. I might give the cheapo a try. Found one at Office Depot , Star Tech.com Virtual 7.1 USB Audio Adapter External Sound Card for $25.95. Will see if they have it at the local Office Depot tomorrow and try it again.

Well, I have tried both the Scannercast and Radio Feed programs on two different computers. One is a Dell XPS, the other a Dell Inspiron E 1705 Laptop. Both give the same results. Both have different sound cards. Both are on Windows XP. The anti virus is AVG on the Dell XPS, but I'm using Avast antivirus on the Inspiron laptop. Both have Windows XP. Could it be the port setting is wrong somehow? If so, how can I change it? Or could my router be blocking it going out? It looks like its ok for the firewall as it shows to be an exception to let it thru... I would like to get this up and running, using the HP-1 with extreme. I haven't tried hooking up the 996XT to it to see if it would be any different, just in case it is the HP-1 with the problem. What next?
