What software is needed to decode audio from that site? Tried to launch it here - it called up Windows Media Player and produced an error message stating that the wrong application was called up. Any suggestions? - I'm very limited in media or audio processing from this PC due to an internal conflict with some programs... nothing that I can do about it, but would like to listen to the feeds as mentioned above if possible...

If anyone is having a problem with a feed,Try replacing mms: with http:

The East Central feed has a limit of only 6 or 8 because the guy has a bunch of other stuff running on a few computers.
I have the Milwaukee County feed and set it for 44 users.
We added a City of Kenosha Fire feed today,it only has Dispatch and Tac 2 but is still cool with a great Tac 2 signal (Tac 2 is simplex)

Two guys talked about setting up feeds in Brown & Dane County,So hopefully that will happen soon.

I'd like some feedback from you guys on the display if you notice it locking up on you. I have not been able to find out exactly what causes this but I have the feeling it isn't on the sending end. It appears to be something in Windows Media Player because stopping and restarting will get it to unfreeze. I checked outgoing bandwidth, etc. when this happens and it doesn't look like it's happening on this end as the audio remains constant..

Mike, I use your scanner as a work tool to copy SBSO and OZSO, but it's almost always minimized. I'll leave it up tomorrow and watch it.

*edit*

I just opened it up, and after about 1m:30s the screen stopped refreshing, although the audio was cycling.

*edit again*

Now it's all refreshing, but there is a delay...not too bad though.

I think having so much stuff on the feed can make it freeze, back when I had Milwaukee,Racine & Kenosha County fire on my feed it use to freeze a lot or run slow, but now that I have just Milwaukee Co it very rarely will freeze, but like Mike said it seems to be a Media Player problem and not ARC780 or Media Encoder

Thanks for the input.. I really don't think the freezing has anything to do with the broadcast. Reason I say that is because it does it to me when I connect direct through the home network without any internet as the middle man. I notice it happen with anyone's that is using the WMP format. I tested mine with it broadcasting only to the LAN and the same thing happened. I've tried messing with several of the settings related to bandwidth used, frames per second, quality settings, etc. and nothing has seemed to change this from happening. I really think it's happening on the recieve end with WMP, possibly with the buffering. But then I would think there would be something I could tweak on this end to keep WMP happy for the listeners!
