I don't have enough info to submit to the database yet, but I heard two Nichols Hills fire units (30 and 34) talk to a Village fre unit (16) on this TGID (49392) on the State's smartzone system. One of the NH guys said his handheld was working, but his mobile was not yet. The other one replied that it's because they haven't installed the antennas yet.

Just heard, "Village fire station 1, State fire 1".

then missed the response, then heard:

"Negative, command will be on Portland"

Just heard more traffic and "State fire 1" could have been "fire 61"...it was broken.

Village fire station 2 just talked to brush pumper 5 to see if they had been cut loose or not.

Most of what I've heard has been the Village talking.

Getting activity on Trp A's Rural 1 (41776) for fire in Lincoln County. Patrol 1 (also heard Ocean 630) was looking for a place to set down on SH 33 to pick up a spotter. They had two problems, first, the spotter was too heavy, and second, they had a problem finding a place to set down safely. The pilot was apparently using NVG, and the emergency lights were too intense in the area they wanted him to land. He finally set down about 250 yards away.

And we get to do it all over again on Tuesday!

I don't know if this is related, but I have heard testing on (apparently new) OKC DPS TGs 49424, 49488, and 49456 Wednesday afternoon as well as a bunch of kerchunking on the 49392 that D. Stew found. As luck would have it, about the time I decided to research the TGs and post this, they quit.

49392 is most likely the talkgroup assigned to the Village/Nichols hills FD(s). They received a grant to "improve fire communications." (oddly enough, police either didn't apply for the grant didn't see the need, or the feds decided their communications didn't need improving. Even though one PD is on VHF and the other is on UHF)

I am almost certain that I heard Jones Brush Pumper 5 contacting either The Village or Nichols Hills FD on 49392. I don't even know if Jones has a Brush Pumper 5 and I find it very difficult to believe that they have an 800 MHz radio.

Nonetheless, someone keys up on that TG frequently, but never says anything and I am sure enough of what I heard to risk grave embarassment by posting it.

Currently, (0738) the Village is testing with Car 14.

As an afterthought, the Eastern Oklahoma County fire units are numbered in the hundreds so Jones BP 5 doesn't make sense unless they are in the process of renumbering. I heard something that sounded like Jones Brush Pumper 5 calling for a radio check .

Disregard my last post. I am convinced now that what they were trying to say was Village. I need to have my tinfoil hat recalibrated.

Is there a place to have that performed around here? I need to have mine done too ;-)

Not that I know of. That's why my tinfoil hat is so far out of whack.

I get very frustrated with that TG. My 396 is set to alert everytime that one or one of the others that I mentioned upthread comes active. People key up on all of them frequently and rarely say anything except - occasionally - testing.
