I'm thinking about getting into this hobby and have a question. I've read that usb-3 can be buggy with the sdr rtl-sdr devices. What do people with the new pic's with usb-c ports only? Do the usb-c to usb adapters work?

I use one of the new MacPros - all Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C for all ports, and it's working fine with my HackRF, RSPDx, and for programming my USDS-100. I also have some cheap RTL-SDR devices for dump1090 that work through USB A->C adaptors....no issues with anything. Even the RSPDx which only comes with a bizarre USB connector is just fine going from their USB-2 Type B into a USB A hub into a USB-C port on the computer is working like a charm.

Like a lot of things, it may depend on the quality of the cable and adaptor you are using. There are some really dodgy ones out there, no doubt.

I use a SurfaceGo (Business model) with Win 10 Pro and only USB C ports on the device. Have not had any problems with SDR or other transceivers/receivers through short pig-tail adapters or the MS Surface dock (which adds several USB-A connections).

No issues with my USB-3 ports/hubs and the RTL-SDR hardware. As long as you don't have an unrealistic expectation of more better...anything.. from plugging a USB 2 device into a USB-3 hub, you should be good to go.

No problems here, just get a handful of the needed adapters and you should do fine.

Fairly new Asus gaming laptop here. RSP2 plays nice on all ports. Works OK with USB C docking adapter too.

You might also consider a hub. They make them for Type C for less than $20.
