They had a fire at the Cincinnati Zoo a few weeks ago and the VHF radio system went down. I wounder if that had anything to do with the move to this new system.

Looks like the new Cincinnati Zoo radio system is singing.

Of note the license WRCZ960 is showing a radio service of IG - Industrial/Business Pool, Conventional but the system is Capacity Plus trunking.

It appears they have two sites on line, one was MUCH stronger than the other from the parking lot just outside of the zoo property.

The strongest site has the following configuration.

LCN:01 - 461.4500 - DCC:12
LCN:02 - 464.1375 - DCC:13
LCN:03 - 464.9750 - DCC:14

I caught a 3 second transmission on TG:103 that appeared to be encrypted.

The second site is very weak and I could barely pick it up for right outside the zoo so not sure what's going on with that.

LCN:01 - 461.5125 - DCC:9, note I never actually heard this channel active, info was gathered from what it should be following the pattern.
LCN:02 - 462.5000 - DCC:10
LCN:03 - 464.1875 - DCC:11

Both sites were showing RAS enabled.

On a somewhat related note Cincinnati Fire station 32 had radios that they could use to talk directly with the zoo as well as several other large venues around the Clifton area. From what information I have been told they are no longer able to communicate directly with UC Hospital security and Children Hospital security since they moved to DMR and now I'm guessing the same will be true for the Cincinnati Zoo. Guess they will need to invest in a Motorola DMR radio now.
