peterjmag, I believe you need to get a life:).

Actually, I think Mustang has long had some regrets about jumping into the 800MHz pool before the other swimmers. They have had interoperability isues for some time. and the only solution seeems to be adding more radios to their fire units.

These are frequencies formerly used by the Moore Police Department.

I was doing a search through the new FCC applications and found an application for Mustang FD and it looks like they are getting 2 new VHF freqs.

<...>

The freqs are
155.595
155.415

OK, so that will give them 3 pairs on 800 MHz and 3 freqs on VHF ... Like he said - what's up with that?

I know I am not the only one here that searches the FCC database on a regular basis.
Normally, I only second someone to say,

Agreed.

But I have to say on this one, you're not alone my friend. Hey, someone has to keep the database computer running or it will get cold and freeze up. And we wouldn't want that, now would we?

I have heard the same input in regards to Mustang.

I wonder if their interop activity in last year's wild fires was hampered by the band jump? I have known for a while that they were serious about getting out of the 800 business but I was more curious if there was a specific catalyst to going back?
