Licenses formerly held by Wells Communications in eastern NY are now owned by a Texas company doing business as Bear Communications, Inc. / Bear Communications Worldwide / BearCom.

Bearcom loves to swallow up the little guys, and even some not-so-little guys.

Interesting, I have had several vendor's countrywide absorbed by Bearcom or Mobile Communications America (CallMC). Lots of little local shops being taken over, sometimes services gets worse, sometimes they stay the same but leverage buying power of a larger corporation, or even become a Motorola Channel Partner as a result. can be good or bad, depending on the people involved at that site. I only deal with the Motorola Solutions Inc. and Flightcom headset parts of Bearcom though, your results may vary.

I think this is it. The profit margin for small shops with large radio companies is pretty dang small. Bearcom and MCA can probably leverage their size much easier than a small shop.
