I was shopping today in the Shop-Rite of New Rochelle. Everytime an employee walked by he was squawking that all too familiar two way radio sound. I am sure it wasn't a Nextel or such. Starved for entertainment as I am, I couldn't help wondering what frequency they use. I remember seeing UHF elcheapo Motorola something or others at the NJ store that I used to go to.

I realize that they most likely use self programmed portables and are on a "Dot" channel.

Any Insight?

W2MR,

I shop there as well,

Motorola Talkabouts are the radio of choice for the New Rochelle shoprite. On the uhf 467 FRS channels.

The little Bleep your hearing, is built in the radio and signals on the dekey. Kinda like a old school cb radio roger beep.

Thanks for the reply. I will do more field research. I like playing radio detective.
