I came from an industry where we would make "Private Label" products for competitors and it never adversely affected our retail end, plus it made our manufacturing end a lot more profitable.
Maybe so. But then again, maybe not. Dyamamic memory is the only
real advantage that Uniden has over Rat Shack & GRE. I think that dynamic memory is still too new and that it would hurt Uniden if they started to offer it to Radio Shack. Dyanamic memory can be used to get those diehard Rat Shackers to switch to Uniden.
I'm guessing that Uniden realizes this and that is why we
still have not seen it on any Rat Shack scanner produced by Uniden. Remember the PRO-83 and how the 246T was released a short time later
with dynamic memory. If Rat Shack does release a scanner with dynamic memory any time in the near future, I think that GRE will have to produce it for them -- unless Uniden has a patent. Else it will be a
long time before we see it on a Rat Shack scanner. Diehard Rat Shackers will have become diehard Unideners by then.
