Found this one today for northwest Wisconsin has Rusk, Barron and Chippawa counties on it with state patrol : http://scanner.scanwisconsin.com/ . Now if someone would stream Waupaca county and the Wausau area yours truly would be set. Thanks to all those that stream feeds I can keep up with happens at home 700 miles away, big thanks to kc9fnm for his Columbia /Marquette feed !

That's great ! Come on folks we only lack about a handful of counties and Wisconsin is covered, again great job by all those that stream !

mmmmm, I take that back. this EazyStream server software is so quirky, it doesn't look like I can get it going. it would be nice to have the ability to display what the scanner is doing, since I have so many services programmed. :-(

Heck put it on shoutcast... displays are nice but sound quility is the real key !

I could, but it would be difficult for the listener to follow the traffic since I have so many active channels. of course, I could program just a few for streaming.

hit the main stuff like Marathon county fire paging etc, if your having big issues with easy stream contact the folks at Wisconsin fire feeds,they will help you get online as long as you let them link to your site. But getting the fire paging in and around Wausau would be a big help.

I'm in Antigo with a 996 hooked to a Scantenna. I have:
WI - Langlade, Marathon, Forest, Lincoln, Shawano, Menominee, Oconto, Portage, Marinette, Wood, Chippewa. MI - Dickinson, Iron Mountain, Kingsford counties all coming in... I'm in a good spot. ;-)

his feed using that software shows tags ! by the way if your getting Portage you should pull in Waupaca too... sounds like your stream is loaded !!!

The ARC programs show the virtual display for any of the Uniden scanners and will even make a text display for some that don't have them like the 895 & 898 xlt's..

Waupaca is on the "fringe" for me. a little noisey, and often not there at all.

I agree with the issues part but it's also because It's more mountainous. Example from inside my apartment in appleton I get all the imediate counties. Adjacent or secondary I get oconto, fondulac, waushara, etc but not portage or marathon. In waupaca county on a hill I still don't get marathon (except skip/good conditions), portage's 2: sheriff and ems but I get columbia, fondulac, oconto, manitowoc, etc and on early morning skip have heard milwaukee county or vicinity of city of milwaukee (milwaukee/ozaukee border) that was on UHF. Similiar on amateur radio from my appleton apartment same (except I've never even heard any calumet county unless I'm there). In waupaca on the hill I get madison milwaukee on skip alot portage(stevens point) never and marathon(wausau) once in a while on skip. So location / terrain plays a part. But I do admit that they have problems which I wont get into right now...

I have it set up. don't see the abilty to create a stream from within ARC

I've got it figured out now. 996-->TalkgroupMonitor-->Serproxy-->Simplecast-->Icecast2-->stream out.
so far so good in testing. Winamp will see all the scrolling alpha tag details. Realplayer, Windows Media Player, Amarok & XMMS will see the static stream description but not the individual frequencies or location names. an m3u link will force an embedded Media Player in Internet Explorer without tags. in Firefox, Seamonkey, and Konqueror the m3u link with bring up and window asking what player to open with, again without tags. still working out a few little kinks and I need to tighten up the security a bit, but it's working well for now. I'll post a link once I finalize the configuration.

Great news, I am a huge fan of win amp can't wait to hear your feed. Also the northwest feed has disappeared ! Dead link not sure what happened.

just now figured out ARC996 + Windows Media Encoder... no plugins or additional downloads needed to see & hear the feed, albeit only in Windows Media Player(didn't try Winamp for that feed).


...still plugging away...
