Yes, it will work fine.

It is a digital scanner that comes without a digital card. If you are going to live in an area that uses analog radio, then there is no need to buy the card. However, you will need to purchase the card if you want to listen in an area with digital radio. More info is on the Uniden forum under anything with the BC250D

it also will not be supported by Uniden when 800 MHz is rebanded.

If you're looking for digital capability, wait for the BCD396T coming down the pipeline. Dealers are saying July or August availability. Does APCO 25 digital, etc. just like the BC250, plus has more channels and features to boot.

If you want to wait, you can buy my BC245XLT, as I'll be putting it up for sale as soon as I get the BCD396T in hand.

jeff, id love your scanner, how much??? i am sick of ebay so id rather deal locally so hell yes, light em up,lets do business, i have 2 trunk trackers handhelds id trade, ones a radio shack pro-92 and i have a radio shack pro 91, or cash, whatever suits you best.....if anyones looking ill sell the 2 mentioned scanners, great shape and the 92 has the power adaptor also..
